Claire Mackie-Brown was elected as a councillor for Falkirk Upper Braes in 2022. She founded Falkirk's Forgotten Villages Group which campaigned about the fuel poverty crisis across the Falkirk region and led her to secure £9 million to replace the off gas provision with mains gas in over 1000 properties. She was awarded Central Scotland "Local Hero" Award 2021.
